Wildflowers

I had so much fun making this card and trying new things. I have a new die cut and colored it bu dipping it in distress ink. It colors the center of the flower but leaves the outside edges white. I also wanted to use some beads and did so on the bottom by the stem to add texture and do something new. I really like the simplicity of this card.

A Fairy Tale

May all your fairy tales come true. This Bugaboo http://www.bugaboostamps.com/search.asp?keyword=ladybug+fairy&search.x=6&search.y=12&search=GO Ladybug Fairy image captured my attention and I wanted to make a pink, girly card. Tuesday Morning Sketches had a great sketch http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/2015/01/tuesday-morning-sketches-285.html

I cut a lacy frame. Then i had some clear ribbon roses I dipped in Worn Lipstick DI to color the center of them. I do not usually use images of people, so I tried something new. I like how the card turned out.

Love Bug

Have you been struck by the Love Bug?? This one is delivering glitzy hearts for Valentine's Day!! The red edge and netting the bug is standing on is from the STAMPlorations Mini Mixed Media set. I stamped Love at the bottom but wanted it to be more textured so I spread embossing powder and heat set it. The bug was embossed and bling hearts were added.

Chicken Soup

The Sweet Sunday Sketch Challengehttp://kgiron.blogspot.com/2015/01/sweet-sunday-sketch-challenge-253.html has an awesome sketch this week.

Bugaboo has a January photo inspiration challengehttp://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/january-photo-inspiration-challenge.html and whenever I see snow and winter I think of cold and Chicken Soup. Made from scratch with baking powder biscuits! Yummo.

So, using the Sweet Sunday sketch and the Bugaboo Kitchen Chicken-Soup image, the card was created. Tulip pearl paint was added to the boil over from the pot. A feather was added becase chickens are known for feathers. Bling was added for the bubbles from the pot. Winner Winner...Chicken Dinner!

Edward

Can anyone have to many valentines? This is one of my favorite days and I love to send out cards to my family and friends. I forego Christmas cards and put my postage on valentines!! I made a special valentine for my grandson, Riley. He should be here and a little candy inside the card will make it a perfect duo for his valentine. I used the Edward valentine Bugaboo digistampww.bugaboostamps.com/Edward-Valentine_p_3632.html Edward is colored with aqua colors and an I love you banner finishes off the card.

I kiss better than I cook

Wowza...I am a pretty good cook when I want to cook. But today, I wanted to make a card. Using the Retro Sketches design,

I hand stamped each letter and layed them like tiles on the yellow paper. I wanted to use cooking paper for the background. Then, I wanted the lips to stick out. I think this will be a great valentine for Ricky!

Heart Seeds

I wanted to make some shaker cards for Valentines. This heart seeds stamp is probably the oldest stamp I own. Does anyone remember D.O.T.s Stamp Company?
The image is embossed in black. It is colored in Aqua colors. Inside the shaker card it is filled with different colored punched hearts in different sizes. A few buttons were added for the sound when it shakes.

HB2U

Look at those eyes...six of them looking at you to wish HB2U! I do not usually googly eye but for this occasion it was fitting.
Those big bug eyes, how much more humerous can that be?!

Coloring the inage with copic markers, adding a star, googly eyes, acrylic dots and HB2U finishes the card.

Staching through the snow

Oh my, I saw this Scribble's http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.com/
stamp and knew I was going to make a card with it. My sister Julie HATES (that is a very strong word in our family) moustache cards. I was clearance shopping at Michaels and saw these "staching through the snow" stickers that went perfectly with the digi stamp!! Guess who is not going to get this card....JULIE!!

I colored each animal with a fantastic moustache. Adding paper and snowflakes along with the sticker makes this a "stashtastic" card!!

Well, sock it to Bugaboo who is FIVE!! Bugaboo's Tuesday challenge is a color challenge..almost all the colors of the rainbow. They sure know how to PARTY!!

http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/bugaboo-stamps-5th-birthday-tuesday.html

I chose the sock monkey. They have a special place in my heart. When my first grandson was born, that is what his father gave him. Everytime I see a sock monkey, I think of Riley. I added the #5 as it is Bugaboo's Fabulous Fifth Birthday!!

Beautiful

I wanted to send my daughter in law a card letting her know how awesome she is as a mother and how much I appreciate her role in the cycle of life...giving me my precious grandsons.

I saw Hazel's card from My Card Attic http://www.mycardattic.co.uk/ and knew I wanted to CASE it! She is such a talented artist and her cards are masterpieces. Hazel makes the most beautiful clean and simple style cards! She makes the cards look so easy to make with beautiful results everytime. If you are not a follower of My Card Attic, I would sign up now!! I hope someday I will meet Hazel in person.

Here is my CASE'd card.

The blue represents the boys. It was dipped in Peacock Feathers DI. Beautiful was embossed in black and then cut in half...I was nervous to do this but the results are nice. The Beautiful sentiment is STAMPlorationstamplorations.com Bold Sentiments and this card should be added to their anything goes gallery.

Hello Foxy

I am telling you I have had so much fun making this card with the STAMPlorations http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2015/01/bi-weekly-sketch-challenge-26.html
sketch.

The Cas(e) this Sketch sketchhttp://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2015/01/case-this-sketch-106.html
provided inspiration for this foxy card.

The STAMPlorations Holiday Artsy has a stamp that if you are as sly as a fox, could be used as a tail. This card's corner is a page marker for a book. I learned how to do this at Dawn's Stamping Studio. http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stampin_studio/2015/01/corner-book-mark-video-.html
Because I wanted the tail and the fox to be the same color, I used the dipping technique in Aged Mahogany DI. When the paper was almost dry, I folded it into the page marker because the paper is still pliable. I assembled the fox cut out of ovals. Hello foxy was embossed in black and the tail was added. Bling was added to finish the card.

Bugaboo, let's celebrate!

A week of birthday festivities at Bugaboo http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/bugaboo-stamps-5th-birthday-sunday.html

to celebrate their 5th birthday. Sunday is a sketch challenge. I used this bear holding a string of stars. Of course the wings, halo and stars needed glitter to make them sparkle to help celebrate Bugaboo's Birthday Bash!

The sentiment is from STAMPlorationshttp://stamplorations.com/ Holiday Artsy set.

Bugaboo's Birthday Bash

Bugaboohttp://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/5th-birthday-celebration.html

is 5 years old and is having a BIRTHDAY BASH!! Bingo is Saturday's challenge. Birthday Fishes would seem to be appropriate to get the party started! I love this image and colored brightly it gets you in the mood to celebrate! For the bingo, I chose bling, scallops and animal.

Happy 5th Birthday Bugaboo!!

Love Bird

Wanting to make a few valentines, this Retro Sketch will be perfect! I used a digi stamp from Paper Smoocheshttp://papersmooches.blogspot.com/p/free-digi-stamps.html. Colored in Copic bright, vibrant colors it would be a good card for a child.

I punched out four hearts and put letters spelling out L O V E on each heart. The branch was used for the bird to sit on and the hearts to hang from. A little bling was added to the tail feathers.

Henry Ashton

Oh what a perfect day. Today my second grandson, Henry Ashton entered the world weighing 6 pounds 6 ounces and was eighteen and a half inches long. Oh Henry, how beautiful and precious are you!!

His older brother, Riley, was told the baby was born. They showed him a picture and he said "You are not bringing HIM home!"

I made a card welcoming Henry into the world. I decided to put a H on it to make sure he knew the card
was made especially for him. They live in North Carolina and will be traveling up to Wisconsin soon. I cannot wait to hold and kiss both of those grandsons!!

Fickle Flower

A quick post using Mango Frost DCWV paper stack. This is a Tuesday Morning sketch.http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/

Loves Rubberstamps Challenge bloghttp://www.lovesrubberstampschallenges.com/ has stamp with anything but black. A hello was stamped in brown in the lower right corner. Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn DI were used to color the fickle flower.

Have a great day!!

Sherbert

I so love this Sugar Rush set from STAMPlorationshttp://stamplorations.blogspot.com/ ! I saw the sundae image and all the word builders. I thought I would only use the sundae image but then I saw the doughnuts. I can not pass up a chocolate covered one, but these are vanilla with blue sprinkles. The top paper is cut at weird angles. I stamped the doughnut image and colored it with a sand Copic marker. The vanilla frosting is pearl tulip paint, The blue sprinkles are glass glitter. The sentiment goes around the paper saying "I never met a calorie I did not like." I had to just stamp the a from the an word. A little baker's twine finishes the card.

Ionic bond

Using Ionic Bond from Unity Stamp Company, I saw this nuclear symbol and imediately thought of the show the Big Bang Theory. I love that show and Sheldon with is selfish narcissistic personality just makes me laugh!! It is funny how they can use such big words and make silly jokes.

The color theme at Unity Stamp Company Bloghttp://theunitystampco-challenge.blogspot.com/ is blues and purples.

I used Try Stamping on Tuesdays sketchhttp://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/.

Crafty Gals Cornerhttp://craftygalscornerchallenges.blogspot.com/ has a sweetheart theme and you need to use a heart. I created the background using the dipping technique with Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Dusty Concord DI. Then, I have never opened my Pearl Ex, and used translucent violet to create a shine. Well, I wanted more shimmer...this is an electrostatic attraction we are talking about. I ran my Versa Mark pad on the card leaving spaces that would be dull and shiny when embossed with clear embossing powder.

I created the background by stamping "Our Ionic Bond" many times. Then I paper pieced by adding the hearts that were punched out of the background paper to the spaces between the background stamping. I also added three of them to the nuclear symbol. My scrap box held the paper for the card and colors for the banners and backing of the nuclear symbol.

Simon Says Wednesday challenge http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/ has It's a guy thing and I think this would be a perfect valentine for the guy.

Steampunk

Yesterday, I went to JoAnne's to get an elegant writer. While there, DCWV paper stacks were on SALE!! $3.49 each for a 4x6 or 6x6 paper stack. I do not call this a "deal of the week", I call it a "steal of the week"!! The paper stack I am using today is Tattered Time. I am also going to use the Mojo Monday Sketch.http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/
I used Tim Holtz's die to cut the gears. Black Soot DI was put on the edges of the papers. The sentiment is Stamplorationshttp://stamplorations.com/ Bold Sentiments and I think I might just wear this set out!!

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is hosting it's a guy thinghttp://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/

Photo Op

Is there anything you have that brings back memories more than photo's? I love to go through my photo albums and look at how my boys have grown. It is fun to see how styles and decades change throuh life. Today I thought using Sketch Saturdayhttp://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ would work perfectly into a photo op card.

Well, I could not pass up a good picture so while my brother and I were cleaning, we found an old picture frame. We thought it would be a perfect photo op! I think the camera had a problem because there is a lot of white hair in the pic!!

#I'vebeenframed

There are three thing on cards that make me laugh everytime. Flamingos, moustaches and eyeglasses. Why there would be a flaming pink bird is beyond me. But I love them. Moustaches come in all shapes and sizes. Men sport them with their own flair and style. And eyeglasses, a necessity in life for a lot of people have become really fun. They are blinged out, colored with designs or your basic black!! So, whenever these elements are used on cards, it instantly hits my funny bone and I laugh!

The sketch from Retro Sketcheshttp://retrosketches.blogspot.com/

just screamed eyeglasses!

Then, Words 2 Scrap Byhttp://words2scrapby.blogspot.com/2015/01/w2sb-challenge-13-youchoosethewords.html

has a #chose your word challenge. So, because it is eyeglass frames, I decided to chose #I'vebeenframed. What a fantastic pairing the sketch and the hashtag word. My funny bone has been hit because I just laugh at this card!

I am going to enter this in the Craft Stampers Take it, Make it challenge.

Dancing with the Stars

Today, I was getting some fun mail ready to send out and I spyed a film strip embossing folder that looked lonely. I was thinking of what to use on this sketch challenge and then the idea hit me.

I inked the folder up, not to carefully, because I wanted some smudge in the strip. Ran it through the Cuttlebug. The strip on the card base and it looked like a wall. Perfect backdrop!! Making some splatters...if anyone can enlighten me here on splatter making, it would be appreciated. I ended up with three large dots and a shirt full of black specs!! Then the image from the STAMPlorations Vignette Ever After was embossed and cut out. His feet were placed on the bottom of the film strip to create the wall/floor effect. A few hearts were added and it is ready to enter into the STAMPlorations bi weekly sketch challenge.http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2015/01/bi-weekly-sketch-challenge-25.html

I just found the Stamp Crafter Magazine Take it Make it challenge http://www.craftstamper.blogspot.com/2015/01/take-it-make-it-challenge-all-new-for.html and would like to enter it there.
