Flamingo

What a line up of inspiration for today's post!  Let me explain  the inpiration taken from each photo below:
 STAMPlorations

The daintiness of the bleeding hearts with the pink and white colors.  The die cuts.

                                                        The sketch.

 The Card Concept

The color theme of pink, black, gold and white.  The stripes on the bow pillow.  Besides the colors, the design on the carpet and the gold accent color were my biggest inspiration.  This is a clean and layered card.

And from the Time Out Challenge  'Flowers and Friends make life a garden'  .   The word friend was
 used.

The card base is embossed.  The black and white piece on the base is washi tape on the label die cut.   The stripes are on the pink paper and the gold is the accent gems.

I just love flamingos and if I could, I would have a flock of them.  Thanks for stopping by and would love to hear your comments!

WagOMeter

Dogs laugh with their tails!  Man's best friend is a dog!  There are many quotes that are very funny about these animals that give us so much joy.

I saw this wag o meter on a the Paper Pups Cricut cartridge and giggled.  I had to go on the card!!

Using up the bits and pieces(UFO's), I had this dog inlay piece to use.  After laying the paper, he gets his dog tags.

Thanks fur stopping by...it is not a typo!!

Trendy Butterfly

This is what happens when you clean your craft room.  I have a container of alcohol inks that have sat on the shelf for...lets just say years.  I have watched videos on alcohol inks and they  just sat in the container.  I considered the inks my retirement stuff!!

Today is use  the alcohol inks day.  I used photo paper and dropped blobs of ink.  I put the blender on top and moved the paper to let it do it's thing.  I love the design it created.  Then I stamped with a black ink pad the music and script images.  It was bold and beautiful.

To put the card together, a piece of corrugated paper, twine and a key  was added.  A butterfly and sentiment was added.  This may be a freestyle collage.

I had so much fun playing with the alcohol inks and spent the day using different colors and paper.  I will be posting the finished cards in the future.

Have a great day and use the supplies that you have had sitting around!!

Simply Shine

An odd mix of colors today, gray, kraft, yellow and aqua.  I did not know where to start but when I did...

I started by stamping the flowers so I knew what space I had to work with.   Then, the colors just flew on the paper through the stencil.  I repositioned the stencil to get the lower image.  I have to say, the colors did work!

Happy Birthday

The best way to start a birthday is with a party on a card!  I have two Kaladiscope ink  pads, a pink and purple one and one that had a variety of colors.

Using two retro stamp sets and STAMPlorations sketch, this party can get started!

Time to try the second ink pad:

Shine Butterfly

AAK.  I was trying to pick up spots of distress ink and when I pulled it against the surface I got scratchy marks in the pink.  AAH, lets see what happens with blue and purple.  Okay, this is just the start...now what...a card is just in the beginning  without all the stuff.

Some stamps, some paper and  some embellishments and wallah!

Thanks for stopping by and shine like a butterfly today!

Strawberry Basket

How about a basket of strawberries and blossoms  for Mother's day!  Kaiden is  meticulous when he puts his cards together and wanted it to be extra special for his mom for Mother's day.  This one  was a little difficult.

One day when his mom was cleaning strawberries she found the biggest strawberry I have ever seen.  She had to take a picture and post it on facebook.

Purrfect Day

My niece's kids and I share the love of cardmaking. Her daughter Brooke and I  made this card for her mom  for Mother's day.  She picked the kitty from Create A  Critter.

Now, I wish I had a Cricut Explorer, but I have the very old, original version of the Cricut.

So I asked Brooke  what card she  wanted to  make next  and she  said a cupcake card.  She really likes to bake and her mom went to Chef school.

Hippopotamus

Well, have you ever heard it is raining hiopotamuses?  That would surely be BIG raindrops!  Unfortunately, if it does rain, this hippo may need a bigger umbrella!

Trying to stretch my dies, I only used the stitching on two sides of the raised image.  I also lined the side image and stamped with hippo image down so some of the stamping matches where the image  is raised.  I think this is a clean and layered card. I have decided to start stamping more in color and I love the sentiment stamped in purple.

Thanks for stoppy by.

Musical Butterfly

Some fun with music, butterflies, dots and gems.  Usually stamping is not done with colored ink and  so this was fun to do and I need to start adding ink to utilize my color inks.

I stamped music on myword die cut and it blend in with the background music.

Here is a close up of the musical birthday.

Bring It!

I saw this crazy San Fransico stamp at our stamp store garage sale.  Can you believe they only wanted fifty cents for it...lol!!  For that price...I will take it home and try to decide what it really is.  I have decided it is a beepole.  A cross between a bee and a people!!  Or, perhaps that is what the  queen bee looks like when the honey pot is disturbed!!

Using Distress Oxides, the background was made.  After I applied water, the colors were dull so I used Distress Inks over the original layer of color.  A little texture paste, embossed wings and grunge stamping brings the beepole to  life!  Originally I was going to stamp "caught a bug" but then I found this other sentiment stamp that made me laugh and wanted to be used!
