Black Birds

This is a bits and pieces card.  Using some of the hoard of die cuts  and bits of items that fit together made this thank you card.  The background is Worn Lipstick and Brick Red Distress Ink.  The bottom is Washi tape and the die cuts  hang in the middle.

I just received this stamp set and I really like  the font and how  the birds  pop against the background.

Olde Fashioned

This image reminds me of going into our coffee shop.  The shop has a vintage vibe and is fun to sit and relax.  So, a vintage vibe card was made.  It uses two sponsors products, STAMPlorations and DL Art.  I would like to thank all the sponsors of the hop and Amy and her crew for all the weekly post and all the behind the scenes work!!

Celebrate With STAMPlorations

STAMPlorations is turning four and we are invited to the party!  What a celebration with new releases and prizes!

To help them celebrate, the magic stencil technique was used with the Retro Circles stencil. A template was made to add the color.

Color was added with a sponge and the template was removed.  The stencil was misted with water and placed on the card.

The stenciled image magically appears!

Bold Coffee

While I was playing with the alcohol inks, I decided to try distressed inks  on glossy paper,  The top panel is distress inks and they did not move so well on the paper.  The outcome looked artsy.  I stamped on the artsy panel and used alcohol inks on the back panel.

I do like the bold, vivid colors!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Get Up, Get Coffee, Sparkle and Be Happy

I had a lot of fun using alcohol ink and blowing through a straw to get the background design.  This is photo paper but heavy shimmer paper makes the ink feather out differently.  The first one is darker and does not show up as well.  The second card you will need your sunglasses!!

Sunglasses needed for this card!!

A Dragon's Birthday

This little dragon card is headed to North Carolina to celebrate my grandson's birthday.

Riley is into dragons's right now, so it is perfect!  I am sure he will stick his little fingers into as many of the holes as he cand and then will have his little brother Henry do the same.  This  could  be a card that entertains them for hours!!

Summer Coffee

s
I love this image by STAMPlorations.  If you like to color, this is an image for you!!  I was going to color all of the image but colored some  and put it aside.  Then it hit my bits and pieces bag where it sat  since the spring hop and then...and then...a card idea!!  Does this happen to you?

To break up the image, I used the COFFEE word die.  I cut another onein black to pull the word out a little.  Embossed the background, add the infamous black and white striped paper and I am in LOVE with this COFFEE card!

Vacation

AAH. vacation time.  For me it is traveling to a warm place to escape the Wisconsin winter.  A little sunshine and a whole lot of relaxing!

Time to read that book you have been meaning to read.  I thought it would be fun to have the sand hill look like the pages of the book that had been read.

Thanks for stopping by and if you are heading out on vacation...I am jealous!!

Wishes For My Children

On to bigger surfaces!  A canvas has a lot of space, lets do a canvas.   After watching many videos ...it is time to spread the paint!

My children are mostly grown so I wanted to use retro colors and words that are wishes for their life.   We are a family that likes things with wheels!  The bike path  has love you spelled  out.  I have hoarded these metal daisies and thought this would be a great use for them.  The bike is a die cut and the words are chipboard.

This was a lot of fun to mnake and looks awesome hanging with the 12x12 pictures of the boys.

Happy Just Fishing

What is more fun than fishing?  Making a card where the fish do not have to be cleaned!

Using alcohol inks and a thick shimmer  paper, my hot air was blown through a straw and the ink feathered in such an awesome way!  When I saw the top blue ink feather I saw the fish swirling and jumping,   playing in the sun.

What perfect sentiments for a masculine card, inspire, just be you and be happy.

A closer look at the feathering of the alcohol ink.
