American Butterfly

It is getting grungy around here as we create a new species of butterfly.   The American butterfly has made it's debut for the fourth of July!

This card was so fun to make.  The butterfly stamp has veins in the wings and the veins had to be masked off.  Then the stripes had to be stamped.  Paint was used for the vibrant colors.  Stars and grung were stamped and if needed, embossed.

Hooray For The USA

July 4 bromgs BBQ's, my son marching in the parade blowing on the tuba, love for our country and a tribute to my mother as it was her birthday.  Besides. birds are always welcome at your backyard BBQ, right?

So this card had to be special and include all the festivity of July 4th.  It has stars, stripes and birds for my mother.

Wear A Crown

For the love of pineapples and dentist appointment cards!

Be a pineapple, be sweet on the inside, stand tall and wear a crown.  My sister loves pineapples and how appropriate to make her a pineapple birthday card!

I recycled my son's dentist appointment card, not because of a shortage of patterned paper but because the colors matched!  It has the months of summer in different fonts.

'Thanks for stopping by and be a pineapple!

How bright and cheerful can a road trip be?  I love getting in the car with family or friends and seeing new destinations!

Cheerful Snails

Today I am using an Inspired By photo inspiration.  Now the only thing I think of with a snail is slow or sluggish...which I am this week because it is just hours before the card has to be submitted and I just finished it.

 Inspired By

I found this great panel in a paper book.  Adding some googly eyes and splatters to my snail shells, the goofy snails look CHEERFUL and ADORABLE!

Thanks for stopping by!  Because these cheerful snail are so beautiful, I am also playing along with:

On The CASE Of Chris

 stamp

Today I am on the CASE of Chris!  I love the background she created.  The stenciled area on top of that yellow is so pretty.  Then add in the black and the whole card pops!

\

I went with the For The Birds die cut and this fantastic sentiment from STAMPlorations.

Frame It

Swimming by to wish you a happy birthday!  Using Simon Says frame it inspiration, the happy was die cut from a piece of paper.  It was then turned into a shaker word.

The underwater scene was made with a fish and his scuba mask.  Googly eyes had to be added!  The inside of the card has the word birthday loaded with bubbles.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

On The Case Of Marie

 stamp

Today I am on the CASE of Marie.  I love the vibrant colors with the black set against it.

So I tried the dripping technique and it did not work so well for me.  I patiently took a paint bursh out with my watercolors and painted on the color.  I started with yellow, then orange and finished with red.  After drying, the palm trees were stamped with black ink and the die cut is one from the $5 birthday bash surprise bags!

On The Case Of Stephanie

 stamp

Today I am on the CASE of Stephanie.  I love the clean look of this card and anytime I can use a die cut, I am in!

I matched Hello Sunshine with a sun ray and some mixed media grunge.

Then I needed a card for a graduate going off on his new journey.  I thought "Life is good" is the perfect send off into his new post graduation journey.

Under The Sea

Just look at the world around ypu
Right here on the ocean floor
                                         Such wonderful things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?
Under the sea, under the sea!

It is tag shaker time under the sea!  The fish was stamped and colored.  A few googly eyes were added with some sequins and a treasure.  I cannot find it but it is a gold star!  On the outside of the shaker, the sand, coral and seaweed were stamped.  Then the bubbles were stenciled on.  Some patterned paper and riboon finish off the tag!

Summer On The Porch

When I think of summer on the porch, I think of sitting in a comfortable chair, the breeze and the sun taking turns hitting my skin, chatting with friends and drinking lemonade or iced tea.  Here is the inspiration for today's card.

 Inspired by

I tried to create wicker with an embossing folder.  There is a fern hanging at the top of the card by the chains of the basket.  The flowers are outlined in black and have white petals with a yellow center.  The yellow blaanket is the paper in between the card sections and there is a hint of the black and white stripe item.  The ice and pitcher have glaze to make them shiny and wet looking.  This is how summer on the porch looks to me!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy time on your porrch this summer!

I Do

Today's card is for a bright and beautiful new beginning.  My nephew has decided to get married.  He has dated his soon to be wife for many years and when I recently saw him he was grins from ear to ear!  Jonathan and Alyssa, here is to wishing you a long and happy life together!

I used two different stamps and stamped the wedding words first.  Then I stamped the wedding couple and gold embossed it.  I love how the words can be seen through the couple!  A bright gold paper was used to bring the gold out in the card.  Then a simple ribbon and brad was used to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Perfect Blend

This weekend I am going to a wedding shower and the theme is coffee bar.  I am so excited as I love coffee and my niece is so creative when it comes to hosting an event!  The bride to be loves coffee and worked at a coffee shop.

Shame on me, I tore the invitation apart so I could reuse some of it.  I like the glitzy, bright, sparkly red paper and the sentiment has to be reused...digging through the embellishment box I found the black chalkboard element, silver hearts and sequins.  Time to put it all together and remake a card!

My Dog

My son just got a new dog and my grandson, Henry, absolutely adores him.  I have had pictures from my son with Henry sitting under the table with Zeek, laying on the living room floor with Zeek and Henry told me Zeek was getting wet out in the rain.  There is just something special about a boy and his dog.  Did I mention Henry is three and Zeek is a bull mastiff?  Zeek could have Henry as an appetizer if he wanted!!

So, Henry needs to get a card in the mail with puppy paws and a bright, shiny and beautiful gold die cut that says big hugs!!  I am sure Henry will carry his card and show it to Zeek often!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is filled with puppy paws and wagging tails!
