Sugar Coated

Hi stamping friends!  A girl and her cupcakes, yup, totally sugar coated!  STAMPlorations theme the month is:

Now how did this come about you ask?  When I saw the hat brim I immediately thought of a serving platter.  So, I went with it.  Perhaps she is going to afternoon tea and is bringing her cupcakes with her!

A fine point black sharpie was used to stencil in her shoulders, face and the bottom brim of the hat.  The lips were done in a red sharpie.  Then the first layer of cupcakes were stamped.  The stencil was lifted a little to clear the frosting on the cupcakes and then realigned and the next portion of the hat was colored in.  Time to stamp the top layer of cupcakes.  After the cupcakes were colored, a stencil was used to fill in around the image.  A sentiment, a gem for the earring and a piece of patterned paper finish the card.

Do you see a serving platter now?  Where the minds will wander1  Hope you have a sugar coated day.

Springtime Melody

'A colorful spring cards that sings!  I knew all the ink pads and stamps were going to come out dto decide which ones were going to be used.

It started by stamping a red grid on the paper.  Thend the center of the card was die cut so it could be layered.  Laying the die cut back into the white cardstock, the floweres were stamped in two layers, lifhter and then darker.  Leaves, music, yellow flowres and words were stamped.  The hearts were stamped and embossed in red.  Once the paper was full, it was layered up.  Then the birds were die cut and embossed in white.  A few sequins were added to finish the card.

A Double Feature

Hi stamping frineds!  Today's spring fling is a double feature.  That's right,  two cards for spring.

It all starts with this Mojo Monday sketch.

First, three stripes of watercolor was put on the cardstock and dried.  The words, birds and sentiment were stamped and embossed with black.  The music notes were embossed in white.  A few rectangles were drawn with a black sharpie and some clear sequins were added.

This spring, my last son is graduating.  He has been so easy to raise, is quick witted and just fun to have around.  He will be greatly missed wherever his journey takes him.  The front panel is a dentist appointment card that had CONGRATS embossed in white.  I had enough left to emboss the hat and diploma.  Now, I need some background paper.  Distress inks were used to get the blues and greens to match the top panel.  Not bad, pretty close match.  Next, stamp and emboss the stars. Then it was sprayed with glimmer mist.  OOH, sparkly! Everything was popped uo for my graduate!

Thank You Birdie

Hi stamping friends!  Today for the Spring Fling I am using ONE stamp set!  If you are just starting to collect STAMPlorations stamps, For The Birds is a great set to start with.

Start by cutting one and a half inches off the bottom of the front of the card stock.  Then  repeatedly stamp the sentiment on the rest of the front.  Glue a one and a half inch piece of patterned paper on the bottom of the back cardstock.  You can pick any color in the patterned paper  to do your stamping with.  In this case, pink, green, yellow or brown would have worked too.  Stamp and fussy cut your bird.  A small strip of solid paper was glued to the front of the card.  An oval tab, greenery, twine and an eye was added to the bird.

Don't forget to hop along and leave comments for a chance to win prizes!  I hope you make this one stamp set wonder!

Island Girl

AAH spring, glorious spring!  The temps are heating up, the flowers will be sprouting and the birds will be chirping!  I forgot to mention STAMPlorations is hosting a spring fling blog hop for 12 glorious days!  Yup, a post each day filled with tons of inspiration and chances to win prizes!

We are starting this spring fling hop with a newly released face stencil.  These stencils are just the base and you can create the rest however you want!  One word here...versatile!

I started by tracing through the stencil with a fine point black sharpie.  I used a red sharpie for her lips. Then I took a pencil and lightly penciled in the hairline.  I went around the hairline with leaves.  The hair was filled in with flowers and by partially stamping the flower outline with brown.  Using another stencil, the areas around the  image was stenciled with pink.  A button with the shaft removed was glued in the center of the large flower.  Adding a word die finishes off this island girl!

For more inspiration, hop along with the other STAMPgirls and leave them some comments!  Come back each day to see the new inspiration and happy spring!

American Girl

I am having so much fun with these face stencils because you can take them as far as your imagination goes!

Using a fine point sharpie, the face was added to the card stock.  Stamps were used to add the hair.  Stencils were used for the stars and the background.  Her face has happy birthday stamped in a very light color.

When I think of hugs, kisses and birthday wishes, I think of a mother who gives birth.  What a miracle when each new life enters the world.  I think of the hugs, kisses and love you have for the new child.  That is the inspiration for this card.  I live in the USA so she bears the colors of her country.

Brew-tiful

Hi stamping friends!  Have you had a chance to play along with this month's theme or sketch?  It is a brew-tiful challenge as it features coffee/tea!  STAMPlorations also has all their coffee/tea stamps in the coffee/tea lovers area for easy shopping...now that is my cuppa Joe!!

I adore the Abandoned Coral Distress ink and it pairs so well with kraft paper.  It seems uncolored images are popping up all over social media so today this card is joining the trend!  By adding pops of color, it works.

The kraft paper is stamped in brown ink.  The coffee image was stamped and fussy cut.  The heart and sentiment strip was stamped and embossed.  Now, to dip the coffee die cut in that lovely Abandoned Coral!!  All the elements were added and the card was finished with a few sequins.

Life is busy so take time to smell the coffee and stamp!!

Don't just make it...mail it!

This fun mail art creates a scene of kids having fun  at the lake.  This envelope started by stamping the image and then masking off the address area.  The rays of sunshine were added through a stencil.  Then the leaves were added using a stencil.  Lastly, the sentiment was stamped twice.

Musical Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to you my siblings!  One of the greatest gifts in life are my siblings.  We are there to cheer each other on, in time of need and just to laugh with each other and have a good time.  Every birthday, my phone rings and my sibling on the other end is singing happy birthday!  So this year they are each getting a musical birthday card!

I saw a canvas on Pinterest and wanted to duplicate it as closely as possible on paper.  After embossing the piano keys on the side, the black keys were colored in.  Black paint was feathered out with some splatters on the opposite side.  I had metal music charms that I heated and dipped in white embossing powder.  Each card get one metal charm and two paper punched music notes.  Happy birthday was white embossed for the sentiment.

Did I mention I have four siblings?  Yes, they all call on your birthday and sing the happy birthday ditty!  These cards will be perfect for my brother and three sisters.  They are also all different.

Well, I am ready for their birthdays this year!  They will also each get a phone call with a sily birthday song!!

Have a happy day.
