Route 66

Today we are taking a road trip alonge route 66 with a card and evelope to match!  You can even see the hole to hang the calendar on the envelope, but this adds to the grunge of the set.

My friend gave me some old calendars and I cut them up into envelopes.  My favorite elvelope was the route 66 one.  My sister asked if I was going to send it to her but I LOVE this envelope.  So, I sent her a picture of it!

Using the colors of the envelope the card was made to match.  All was well until it got to the color of the car.  I thought gold or tan but it just did not look right.  So, metallic grey was the color to go with.  The card background was made with distress stains.  The road trip was stamped and embossed with black powder.

Sometimes it is difficult to make a more masculine card but I just love how this set turned out!  Have fun travels in your day!

Woof

While digging through the stamps, I found this pet set that I had never inked up.  That should NEVER happen!!  Well, time to hit the ink pad and create!

Everyone loves their pets and I have a suitcase of scraps to use up!  I started by stamping bones and paw prints on white cardstock.  The black stripe paper with hearts is scraps from a card camp we did.  Scraps of black and red finsih the scrap useage!

Hope you aren't having a ruff day and this card made you smile.

Florals

There have been postings on facebook about marbelizing eggs in shaving cream.  I just love the marbelized look.  Recently I  purchased a small tablet of marbeled paper and have been itching to use it.

Flowers were stamped and cut on a piece of white cardstock.  Using a bowl to create the curve, the stamped image was cut out.  A scalloped curve seperates the two papers.  A sentiment die cut was added to complete the card.

April Fools!

Who is playing with the calendar putting both Easter and April Fools on the same day?  Here is a triple play, it is also my granddaughter's birthday!  Big number two, Parker!!

Her card is going to be a combo, Easter on the outside and birthday on the inside!

Recycling a card provides the pink polka dot layer.  A rabbit was stamped and colored.  Other elements were added and Parker's birthday card is complete!  An envelope was made to put the card in to add some fun when she receives it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Just Be

What do you put in a fish bowl?  There are tons of different objects to add along with plants and rocks.

I wanted to try some new techniques so I painted the background and then took a ruler and pen and added the lines and colored areas.  Then some splatters.  Now throguh and embossing folder.  I like all the elements together.  I stamped the fish bowl and fish.  I had this coin stamp and thought it would be fun.  The plants are hand drawn along with the rocks.  Glitter was added to the coins for sparkle and a few gems for the fish bubbles.

This card was really fun to make and not doodling much, it took me out of my comfort zone.

Thanks for stopping by and this is one fish bowl that will never have to be cleaned!!

In The Garden

Look who is in the garden snuggled in the row of beans inviting all their friends to lunch!  Well, as Ricky says, they have to eat too!

Using bright colored paper, a few punched leaves were added to the image and this card was created!
