Shine

It is hard to shine when you are distressed, but with some glitter, you can shine!

Today,  a tutorial straight from my craft pad.  The craft pad has been well broken in...I have some addresses on it, glitter stuck to it, spots of glue, but a new one would look the same in several days so I go with it.  Don't mind the workspace, it is the work in progress you will get to see.

I started by punching the stars, Next came rubbing three shades of blue distress ink on the craft pad and misting it.  This is the first dunk through the ink.

After drying, the paper goes through the second dunk.  There are a few white spots but it looks like the evening sky.

After that dried, watered down acrylic paint was put on the end of a paint brush and splattered on the card.  Clear packing tape was put across the punched images with the sticky side facing up covering the punched images.  Yellow ultrafine glitter was put over the sticky tape.

Using STAMPlorations stamps, the sentiment band was stamped and the sentiment was embossed on the sentiment band.  The card was completed by rubbing the darkest distress ink on the edge of the card and adhereing it to the white card base.

Happy Birthday Becca!

What is crazier than the Damsel of Distressed Cards?  Her mood board to celebrate her 30th birthday, , of course!  Only fun, bright and bold colors for this celebration!

Well, the angles are right and the colors are not so bright and bold but it is the Lost Coast Designs stamp that is celebrating with Becca!

So Becca, as you start the adventures of a new decade, Happy Birthday!!

MHK Designer Inspiration: Jerrie tiger

As summer swings into full bloom, the tiger lilies bloom too.  I love how the tips of the flowers fold back displaying a delicate flower.

I am excited today to share a card made with He Is Risen set from MHK Designs.  Using a glittered white cardstock and newsprint, the base was created.  A foil doily, patteerned paper and punched  leaves are the second layer.  The colored image is nestled on top to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.

Cuppa Joe

Is there anything better than a cuppa joe?  It is the liquid morning to get you going!  Well, my cuppa joe inspired me to work with distressed inks and sprays today.

Using lots of supplies, the background was created with distressed ink.  Then stencils filled in the background.  There were some   stamps that added a little grunge, and acrylic paint to add some interest.  Some distress spray splatters added a perfect touch. The card was finished by adding three gems and layered on the base.

If The Shoe Fits, Buy The Matching Purse

Putting on the glitz!  Who can resist new shoes...and the matching purse!!  I love this vintage stamp set and decided it would be perfect to SPARKLE up!

The background is distress sprays.  Then it is stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with black powder.  Stenciling was done with distress ink and then Onyx glitter was added to some of the shapes.  Crochet thread was glued and dipped in Onyx glitter.  Thin dies created the circles and the stiletto.  The shoe was glitzed up with several colors of glitter and colored with Copic Markers.

Below are two cards made using the new set.  I chose to feature the sentiment.

And no 4th of July would be complete with out the flag proudly waving.  Three circles have been punched out of red, white and blue to showcase the colors of the flag.

Diet Pepsi

AAH, summer time.   While planning our July 4th picnic, there are several items always thought about...they are listed on the printable on this card.  Yes...I am a Diet Pepsi girl.  When I go to my sisters, they are Diet Coke gals so we have this ongoing soda pop battle.

Since my family is having a card exchange in August, I made some cards for the others in the exchange...

The circle and grill are wafer thin dies and the circle was colored with distress ink and stamped with a grass stamp.
