Snow Angels

The "S" word has appeared alll over the ground here.  The only thing to do with the "S" word is to slide and make snow angels!  My grandson was so excited to hear that we had snow and wanted to come stay with me.  He lives in North Carolina and they do get snow but not like we do here in Wisconsin!

Today is a card for the kiddos as they enjoy the snow much more than I do!  They have little hands so I wanted to make a little card for them.  I die cut hello out of cardstock and stamped the snow angel. After coloring a few spots, a glitter pen was used to glitter up the wings and body.  Snow hills and stripe paper was added.  Plain paper was glued behind the die cut word.  Lastly, a few sequins made the falling snow.

Thanks for stopping by and let it snow!

O Holy Night

Never thought of using black on a Christmas card but it makes the gold glisten!  Is there any better color than gold for the manger scene?

I was gifted the gold star background piece and love it.  If anyone knows the company that makes it please let me know.  Behind that piece, distress paints of black, beige and gold metallic were spread on a sheet of cardstock.  The manger scene and sentiment are embossed.  I added the piece of garland with the star so it connects to the manger.

This non traditional Christmas card already has a home.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your holiday season!

Dear Friend

Have you had a chance to play along with STAMPlorations Stamps and Rainbows challenge?  Rember, you can use either the theme or sketch.  You can also enter the challenge SIX yes 6 times!

Playing with the distress paints and created a camo  background.  Remember, your background will look rather odd until you get all the details added to it.  Then I stamped and embossed with brown tapestry embossing powder.  It looks like tree bark on the camo.

The deer was stenciled on the paper with texture paste.  When it had dried, the stencil was placed back over the deer and vintage photo ink was rubbed over the texture paste.  It comes out looking so soft and velvety.   Then the sentiment was embossed on paper and added.  The only think I could come up with is dear friend!!

Thanks for stopping by  and may your day be a creative one!

Global Art

There is a fun exchange at Global Postcard  Art Swap and the theme this exchange is Thankful.  Each exchange you get three names to send your art to and you receive three pieces of happy mail back!

Using a coverplate, the pumpkin area was colored in.  I used colored pencils and applied a thick coat.  Then, I used a copic marker and the wax from the colored pencil seems to move the ink around and shades itself.  The sentiment was diecut and colored.

I have a lot to be grateful for in my life.  I am also grateful you stopped by and left a comment!  Enjoy this season!

Choose To Be Grateful

Hi stamping friends!  STAMPlorations is having a blog hop and linky party.  Hop along and leave comments for a chance to win prizes and see all the creativity the STAMPglirls have whipped up!

Today's card features the  Doodled Autumn Pumpkin Cover Plate Die and the Choose To Be Grateful Phrase Die.  The cover plate was cut twice and the pumpkin was cut out of the second cut.  A half of an inch was cut out of the full cover plate and small pieces of paper were cut to cover the rawn edge.   This was adhered to the cardstock piece.  An oval was cut and the pumpkin was colored with a heavy coat of colored pencil and then an orange Copic marker.  The word phrase die was glued to the pumpkin and a few sequins were added.

Thank you for stopping by.  Be sure to hop and leave comments and then link up your wishlist.

Rainbows

Hello stamping friends!  Are you looking for your pot of gold?  Perhaps this month you will find it because the theme this month at STAMPlorations is stamps and rainbows.  I have heard if you find a rainbow there is always a pot of gold waiting!

Remember, you can either join in with the theme or the sketch.

Using the smoosh technique, distress inks were swiped across an acrylic block.  Then all the colors on the block were misted and smooshed onto the paper.   Let the block sit on the paper for a few minutes for the ink to absorb into the paper.   When the paper was dry, it was cut with a circle die. The chipboard letters did not take the swoosh technique so well so I used my fingers dipped into the distress ink and rubbed my finger across each letter.

All of the art pieces were stamped in distress ink and fussy cut.  After all the words and letters were added to the rainbow circle, clear sequins were added.

Thanks for stopping by and may you have a creative day!  If you would like to save 20 percent on your STAMPlorations order, use the code STAMPGIRLJERRIE at checkout.
