Watercolored Butterfly

My sister, Julie, dragged out this set of watercolrs that sparkled before my eyes. It was creativity in a box!! I looked them over and my eyes were drawn to the reds, yellows, orages, blues and greens. They were the bright colors in the box, soft and welcoming.

I stamped a butterfly in versa mark and embossed in black the butterfly. The black needed to stick out amongst the vivid colors it would be surrounded by. Then, the waterc oloring began.

I stamped happy birthday on a circle and attached it in the open space.

  2. Wonderful make...I'm just beginning to use watercolor as a coloring medium too and I it's fun! In fact, my latest project for Word Art Wednesday today highlighted water coloring. So glad you joined our 200th Challenge at Word Art Wednesday last week. We have a new Challenge today and I hope you join us again. Leaving you with the inspiration of God's Word in Colossians 2:6-8 which says, "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ." Have a blessed day!
