Three Butterflies

The butterflies have been surfacing in my stamp  box.  I have had this strip  of five butterflies and stamed only three of them.  While I was thinking of a name for this post, an old Meatloaf song came to mind,  Two Out Of Three  Ain't Bad... only my mind changed  the lyrics to  Three  Out Of Five Ainl't Bad!!  Well, now  that I have gone retro, this stamp is brand spanking new!

I also hit the washi tape box  up!

Hello Butterfly

Are you ready for a little burst of spring?

This butterfly is ready to add a burst of color to my friend's mailbox with a warm hello!

I think the clean card brings the grunge front and center and the frame makes the butterfly the focal point.

Like You A Latte

Let's start the New Year with a  new stamp set and stencil from STAMPlorations!  As long as we are going new, here is a new technique.

After the stencils were secure, distress ink was smeared on the craft mat and misted until droplets formed.  This was picked up with a sponge and put through the stencil.  On the top piece, red and pink distress ink was used.  It gives a softer, watercolored look.

So for the mixed  media items, distress ink, paint pen, Copics, ribbon, embroidery floss, die cut and  a printed tag were used.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Framed Floral

I think I have fallen in love.  Not with the human kind, with a stamp set!  I just got this Scribbly Splattery Grunge set and have used it repeatedly.  Usually I use a few of the stamps in the set but with this set, I have used most of the stamps.  This set will be my go to set of the year and by the end of the year, I will use each stamp in the set!!

My embossing powder has been neglected so it is time to open those jars and use that heat tool...besides, using the heat tool is a quick warm up during winter!!  I used the alphabet stamp from this set and embossed it in white inside the frame.

This is a clean and layered card.

Good To The Last Drop

Coffee, liquid sanity, sweet brown goodness, good to the last drop!!

I  am having fun  with STAMPlorations new  set, A Cuppa Love.   I am also trying to blend my coloring.  I have been intrigued with the muliti colored word dies and tried blending on the word and coffee drop.

Notice all the numbers behind the cup?  I lost count of how many cups of coffee I had today!!  LOL!

Mr Frog

Wanting to end the year on a fun note, this was the card I made and entered to get a guest design team spot on STAMPlorations!

Our library has some stamp sets you can check out.  When I saw this frog image, his eyes had to be sparkling white and the rest of the card  had to be  fun!!

MHK Designer Inspiration: Jerrie

WowZa friends...2016 has flown by!  Today is a posting of my favorite cards made using MHK Designs and digital paper.

I have two favorite images that I have used for a few years.  I think they remind me of my childhood when we would spend hours sledding, skating, playing broom ball and other outdoor activities.  My father and four siblings made fantastic snow hills and played broom ball in  the driveway.  The neighborhood kjds would come over and join in.  My mother had a big bucket of homemade snowmobilers hot chocolate to warm up with!

I am looking forward to see MHK Designs new releases for 2017!  Thank you for checking in and leaving such kind comments this year~
