Hippopotamus

 Well, have you ever heard it is raining hiopotamuses?  That would surely be BIG raindrops!  Unfortunately, if it does rain, this hippo may need a bigger umbrella!

Trying to stretch my dies, I only used the stitching on two sides of the raised image.  I also lined the side image and stamped with hippo image down so some of the stamping matches where the image  is raised.  I think this is a clean and layered card. I have decided to start stamping more in color and I love the sentiment stamped in purple.

Musical Butterfly

Some fun with music, butterflies, dots and gems.  Usually stamping is not done with colored ink and  so this was fun to do and I need to start adding ink to utilize my color inks.

I stamped music on myword die cut and it blend in with the background music.

Bring It!

I saw this crazy San Fransico stamp at our stamp store garage sale.  Can you believe they only wanted fifty cents for it...lol!!  For that price...I will take it home and try to decide what it really is.  I have decided it is a beepole.  A cross between a bee and a people!!  Or, perhaps that is what the  queen bee looks like when the honey pot is disturbed!!

Using Distress Oxides, the background was made.  After I applied water, the colors were dull so I used Distress Inks over the original layer of color.  A little texture paste, embossed wings and grunge stamping brings the beepole to  life!  Originally I was going to stamp "caught a bug" but then I found this other sentiment stamp that made me laugh and wanted to be used!

Age is a GAMBLE

I have my sister's birthday number and believe me, it is higher than thirty.  The number thirty  is a chip!!  

I had a lot of fun making this card for Brenda and the sentiment is made just for her...and my two other sisters...they needed a birthday card like this too!  Got their numbers and they are higher than 30 too!

Don't feel to bad for my sisters...what goes around comes around!!

Hidden Bird

Don't you just love surprise birthday parties?  I agree, not really!!

This crazy bird is bringing surprise birthday wishes as the happy is on the outside and the bird-day is on the inside.  The bird is hidden amongst the flowers as part of it's camoflauge.  The flower is stamped on the card base to create the background.

May Flowers

Going back to those Crazy Birds and Aqua colors.  I just cleaned my stamp room and the goodies I found!!  I decided to use some old supplies and mix and match them to create this card.

The flower stamp had a flourish I used on the base card stock.

Color Bursts

Playing with the Color Bursts and lots of water, this background was created.  I have such a problem covering up the backgrounds so first I stenciled to add some details.  Then I stamped so flourishes at the bottom.  Still just wanting tolet the background shine, I stamped the flowers.  A sentiment was added and I am loving this simple but beautiful card!!

Hello Butterfly

But-ter-fly, an insect with two wings usualloy brightly colored.

Yup, that is the kind of butterfly you will see on today's card.  The background was created using various sentiment and word stamps from Trendy Butterflies 2, Sentiment Builders:Happy and Hope Blooms.  The Hello word die was cut in black and tulip paint was used to add the dots.

Unlucky 13

My family has a quarterly card exchange and 13 people have signed up.  As we were stamping our cards, I was telling my sister about the NBUS challenge.  I told her it was a little different this time as you could post your blunders.  Like what she said.  Like I put my cards together and they open backwards or you stamp your card and something gets stamped upside down I was telling her.  My sister was listening and stamping her cards.  She just had the inside with the verse to stamp.  On the 13th card I heard this shreeeeeek.  Well, to make the NBUS blunders, one of these tings are not like the other...one of these things is just wrong...yes, thirteen times.  The card is horizontal and the insert is vertical!!  Yup, thank goodness they were not glued inside the card and could be turned over and restamped!

We did have a good laugh!

The calendar is loaded with birthdays and this card is going right into an envelope and in the mail!

I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  The stamped panel is inked and stamped on photo paper first using versa mark to create some white shadows then in black.
