Sunflower Greetings

Getting a card ready for my sisters birthday in September.  I am looking forward to the crisp crunch of leaves, sunflowers in the floral arrangements and the pumpkin orange.  Fall is my favorite season of the year.

The paper on the card base was crinkled and highlighted with distress inks.  The tag was a perfect addition for the sunflowers.

You Make Me As Happy As A Clam

Today, we are going down by the boardwalk, down by the sea!  Now that song is going to be playing in my head all day!

Using a Tim Holtz sea horse die cut, ARTplorations stencil and distress inks this tag was created.  I used Pistachio, Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo DI.  When stenciling, I used FJDI for the water and VPDI for the sand area.  A few circles of white acrylic paint was added to the left of the card and some of them faded into the background.  The shell has a little VPDI on it and gauze and string were added.  This sentiment stamp has been one of my favorite and does not get used much.

Designer Inspiration: Jerrie

Hi Everyone!  After five days of new releases, it is challenge time!  Have you picked your favorite images?

A little texture paste and stenciling created the wood look background.  I used the challenge colors for the majority of the flowers and then it needed a pop of color.  The orange flowers completed the boquet.

Pansy Corner

Are you ready for a fanstastic new release?  Today is Pansy Corners and it is a fun one!

I chose to make the pansy my focal point on the card.  I  enlarged , printed and just cut out the pansy image.  It was colored, a large gem was put in the center and the card was assembled.

Halloween Party

  Halloween Party is such a sweet, vintage stamp set and it is being released today!  You can use the sentiments, image or both to make a delightful card!

A pumpkin shaped card allows for the majority of the image to be used and yet, it is a fun shaped card.  A die cut leaf and twine finish off the card.

Tomorrow is the last day of the new releases, but, you can join us for the challenge starting in two days and use any of the images at MHK Designs or an image you have to join us in the challenge!

Beautiful Bottles

Day two of release week and Beautiful Bottles is making it's debut.  This stamp set has some awesome sentiments.  My favorite is "Happy girls are the prettiest".  What an uplifting sentiment and what girl would not love to receive a card made for them with that sentiment?

I had a charm that fit perfectly on top of the bottle.  Once the bottles were colored, a liquid glaze was put on the contents.  A few splatters and I am ready to send this card out!

I could not decide what bird to use...so I used them all!  They are nested in the leaves ready to Chirp You Up!

HB2U Chicka!

Using a mish mash of stamps and some color, HB2U Chicka was created.

The chick was stamped and then the color was applied around it blending the inks together.  Some stenciling was done and then it was time to add the grunge!  Different stamps added a bit of fun to this card!

MHK Designer Inspiration: Jerrie

Today we are giving the envelope we send our cards in some love!

When you decorate your envelopes and take them to the post office, you will get tons of comments.  Instead of the plain white envelope, you have art.

I printed an image from Butterfly Wisdom on the envelope.  There was some extra grunge so I used some stencils to compliment it.  Then, using some inks the butterflies were colored in and a background was added leaving lots of room for the addresses.

Now, who should I send a card to?

Mr & Mrs

This is the year of weddings in my family.  I have one more on the calendar and thought this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches would be  perfecct.

I received this & embellishment from an exchange.  Then, I bought a paper stack with & paper in it.  Time to make a Mr & Mrs card!  So, I distressed the paper and cut the bride's invitation to use the perly paper behind the Mr & Mrs.

Love Life

Today we are going a little wild with the craft supplies and colors!

Using distress stains, the background of the bird was created.  The bird was stamped and embossed and some grunge was added.  Then...a base paper was needed so the beginning of the card sat for a few days until...it appeared...the perfect background paper!  It was tehn time to add the googly eye, twine, die cut feather and another embellishment.

This bird is a Lost Coast Design stamp.

Geometric Raimbow

Somewhere in the raimbow, you will find all the colors in this card!

It is a mixed media card that includes ink, twine, a flower and menta bubble embellishment.  To include green, look to the flower leaves!
