Beauty Is God's Handwriting

Let go and create!  My biggest problem with creating a background is cov ering it up.  A patterned piece of paper, no problem to add your images and embellishments.  A hand created background...which part do you cover?

Colorburst created the first layer of the background.  The butterfly was stampped and embossed.  A flower stencil created the mutted flowers in the background.  Texture paste and a stencil made the circles on the right side.  Versa mark and white embossing powder made the small white dots.  Then distress ink made the edges.

The butterfly stampp is vintage but timeless.

Chicken Soup For The Soul

Uplifting true stories about ordinary people's lives are what the Chicken Soup For The Soul books are all about.  These short stories leave you with a smile in your soul when you are done reading them.   This card is based on those books.

On The Go

With the unusually warm weather this year, we have seen people out playing on their mopeds and enjoying a splash of fresh air!

While going through the embellishment box, I ran into this wheel button.  When I saw the sketcxh, it worked perfectly into it.

Here is the card based on the sketch.

You Cured Yet?

Going retro with some old stamp sets that are fun and recognizable.  My family has a quarterly card exchange and let me tell you, amazing cards are exchanged.  This quarter the theme was add a  critter.
Who could resist this punny sentiment with the sick little pig.

It seems doilies are my favorite embellishment lately.  I am also trying to thin my stash of paper, so I used what I had enough of on hand to  make ten of  the same card.

A Little Pickup!

A little pickup note for you!  I love this punny but cute saying that will make anyone smile and let them know you are thinking about them!

What could be better than a little vintage truck loaded with love?

Using color pencils and letting some of the white show through adds to the vintage feel.

Thanks for stopping by.

Retro Coffee

Ah, the orange and brown colors of years past!  That is what todays card is based on.

Do you remember the vintage coffee pots?  My Grandma had one like this.

The Retro Circles ARTploration stencil was used in the background and Framed Coffee Pot is the front image.  Check out STAMPlorations to find them.

Start your day with coffee but make it a crafty day!

Oh Happy Day

Oh happy day when the first butterfly appears after the winter thaw.  The way they float so gracefully through the air and just once in a while land on you.

Using some patterned background paper, I used my favorite craftroom tool.  My heat embosser is probably the olderst tool I have.  It is used to speed the drying process, magically melt embossing powder and on cold days when I am embossing a shot of hot air warms me.
