Using a Java Card Line Art image of Santa with a cup of coffee, and some pretty festive paper, this fun card was created.
Monika was kind enough to give me this image and when I found paper to use, it looked vintage. I ran Old Paper DI over the image and colored it with Copics. Swirls of steam were added to Santa's coffee. Sparkly red ribbon and a few gems were added.

Momma's Got A New Pair Of Shoes
My canvas has expanded! Today, I am upcycling shoes. A pair of beige high heel shoes to be exact! Since there are no high heel shoes in my closet, my niece dpmate a gently used pair. I had three requirements...the highest heels she could find, closed toed and smooth. I wanted to make a decoration for my craft room using stamps. I adore this Hope Blooms set from STAMPlorations.
Now, who alters shoes? I watched the Home and Family show and they used comic books to alter their shoes. The sold for around $150 a pair. I wondered if I could use my stamps, what could I lose...a pair of shoes, some craft supplies and time.
I started by coloring the heels and ridge on the shoe black with a Sharpie marker.I
I took two sheets of copy paper and stamped on it. You will be cutting this into squares and rectangles so just stamp randomly on the paper.
Gelatos time! I put a lot of orange in the center of the butterfly and took my finger to spread it out in the wings. Then I took a brush and Mustard Seed DI and put three blotches of color on each image.
Since it is best to work in squares and rectangles, I cut my finished paper into shapes.
Using Mod Podge, the images were randomly applied to the shoes. On the outside front of the shoe, I wanted the image and Bloom to show so that is the only place I was paticular.
Once the shoes were all covered, I put a layer of Mod Podge over the entire shoe. Then, it dries overnight. As you see on the picture there is some overhang on the bottom of the shoe so using an Exacto knife, remove this. Since I wanted a shiny heel, I decide to use a gloss black acrylic paint and redo the heel and sole. Then it was time to stencil. I tightly held the stencil in the open white spaces and took Black Soot DI and rubbed it in the stencil.
I wanted the shoes to look like they were on display at an expensive shoe store. I had a clear jewlry box and put it under the toe of one shoe and put that heel in the heel of the other shoe. I used tissue paper, flowers, greenery, bling, and ribbon to complete this project.
I love the finished project and it will be the centerpiece in my craft room!

MHK designs posted a little preview on facebook of a new release they were working on. When I saw it, I could not wait for the release. Mynn released it early and it was time to CRAFT!
I used distressed sprays to create the background. Then I cut a stencil using my Martha Stewart snowflake punch and pushed some versa mark through the stencil. A little clear embossing poweder and the four snowflakes in the background sparkle and glisten.
After downloading the image and coloring it with Copics, I wanted it a bit more vintage, I went over the image with Old Paper DI and edged it with Vintage Photo DI. I die cut some embellishments and added some bling. I just love this image and the way the card turned out.

Thanks From The Herd
Using a SGVcuts file, this adorable barn was cut out. The front of the barn was embossed and decorated with the doors. Pumpkins, a banner, candy and a sticker were added to the barn. I can not wait to send this out!! A special envelope was made and extra postage will be required

Little Houses On The Hillside
Coming to a town near you...perhaps this is the town in which you live!
I just got this stamp set and decided it was time to ink it up! I love the little houses and wanted to use fun, vibrant colors. On the CASEs of Suchi's vibrant colors and Kim's card from the November CASEplorations challenge. I like how Kim has the weight at the bottom of the card, so I decided to do that. The background looked a little to open to me so a sun fit in perfectly. I wanted the sentiment to be able to be read against the dark background so I used white embossing powder. I took a little bike die cut and colored it. It fits in perfectly in this little town!!

True North
There is no one that likes newsprint more than me! So on my care, I inked up my new True North stamp set and cut up my recently received magazine!
I chose a kraft base. I took newsprint and distressed it and then edged it with Vintage Photo DI for the next layer. Then comes a layer with wood grain embossed with Vintage Photo DI. The next piece is a die cut, rubberd with Old Paper DI, edged in Vintage Photo and stamped with Mixed Media Grunge and the sentiment from True North. A newsprint circle rubbed in Old Paper DI and edged with Vintage Photo DI is a perfect place for a popped up ship to set. Natural twine was tied on to complete the card.
I just love this stamp set and the sentiments are so nice.
