Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!

I was cardmaking at my sister's and digging through her scrap box.  The background paper on this card SCREAMED use with the Bunny Love set!

I am not a computer wizzard and have just started working with dropping your color into an image,  This being said, I did not want black tulips.  I punched flowers to replace the tulips.  This is a quick way to use your digital stamps!!

Thanks for stopping by and happy Easter!

MHK Designer Inspiration: Jerrie Mead

After the last snowstorm here, I am ready for spring!  I love spring as the new leaves slowly pop out and grow.  The first robin digging for worms.  But, the first Butterfly is always fun to see.   They are just so dainty and elegant.

Butterfly Wisdom is a great collage of butterflies.  Orange and black are such a dynamic duo to begin a card with.  The butterfly collage is colored and a few black dots are added.  I love the sentiment as it is so pretty.

Are you ready to create your card/project for the challenge?  We would love to see what your inspiration!  Join us at MHK Desings!

I think of spring, the birds returning and the colors that will soon follow.  Using neutral colors, there had to be a pop of color!

If these birds could sing, there would be a beautiful bird melody in the background!!

Here Comes Santa Claus

December 25 is a very magical day as Santa Claus and his magical reindeer have left presents for girls and boys!

This card was so fun to make as Santa Claus is one of my favorites!  I started by tearing masking tape and putting the ripped jagged edge towards the bottom.  I layered the tape up to the top of the card.  Then rubbed Old Paper DI and Vintage Photo DI over the masking tape.  It created the cracked background.  Moved Lawn and Tarnished Brass distress paint was lightly painted over the tape.  Post card and December 25 was stamped in Vintage Photo DI. Now on to the  die cut boughs and berries. Santa was colored with Copics and his eyebrows were colored with a white gel pen.  To finish Santa, the edges were brushed with Vintage Photo DI.

Stamps used: MHK Designs, Tim Holtz and a vintage stamp.

Winter Wonderland

Hitting the scrap box to make this Christmas card.  It reminds me of all the hours my siblings enjoyed the snow covered sledding trail.  Then the hours sledding with my children. Using scraps, a little glitter and a Memory Box die cut, this Winter Wonderland was created.

Let It Snow

I am just loving MHK Designs new releases.  It is snowing here today and I am working on Christmas cards for my siblings.

I had a strip of scrap paper from a 12x12 sheet from when we made boxes.  It was pearly and looked like a snowy, blustery day.  The sentiment is tucked in one of the cut strips.  Snowflakes were punched out of scrap pearly white paper.  Bling and a silver ribbon was added.

Skating By

MHK designs posted a little preview on facebook of a new release they were working on.  When I saw it, I could not wait for the release.  Mynn released it early and it was time to CRAFT!

I used distressed sprays to create the background.  Then I cut a stencil using my Martha Stewart snowflake punch and pushed some versa mark through the stencil.  A little clear embossing poweder and the four snowflakes in the background sparkle and glisten.

After downloading the image and coloring it with Copics, I wanted it a bit more vintage,   I went over the image with Old Paper DI and edged it with Vintage Photo DI.  I die cut some embellishments and added some bling.  I just love this image and the way the card turned out.

'Tis The Season To Be Jolly

We were sitting around a campfire and my friend introudced me to this wonderful couple.  Tom and Lisa.  Tom is from Germany and every time he used the word  and it was und.  Everytime I heard und I had a little smile on my face.  He told me how he met another guy around the campfire.  Tom wanted to go hunting and this guy taught him how to hunt.  They have been hunting ever since on the hill.  The hill was where we were at having the campfire.

Later, we got to talking about stamping cards.  They invited me and my friend over to make the best dumplings.  I wanted to make them a Christmas card and I thought this was perfect

I used a digital image called "Holiday Deer" from MHK Designs.  I printed it two times.  The first layer is my base.  I cut out the area around the deer's horns so I could make a window for my sentiment.  The second print was cut apart to lift some boughs.  I used a wood grain embossing folder with black ink to create the wood panel.  Then I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with black.   I had to trim a little on the design to make sure all the sentiment showed. I put a piece of acetate between the image and wood grain panel.  I added glitter to the mountain tops and boughs.  Then I put three red gems for a pop of color.

I was forced to clean my craft room to find a piece of acetate!!   I also need some acetate because I made my grandson a little card on the Cricut.  I put the acetate behind the dino skeleton to make it look like an Xray!!

Stamps Used: MHK Designs and a vintage sentiment stamp.

Lift Me Higher

Yesterday, it happened...our first snow of this season!  Yes, that four letter word appeared...SNOW!  What a perfect time to finish my first MHK designs card.  I used sparkling silver paper around the image and next to the card base.  Then, I used a stencil and added glitter to make it sparkle!  After coloring the image, I wanted to add green trees and stamped them with a chevron print to add some texture.  It is a little difficult to see.
